The 02516Z is an omni- directional vehicle-mount antenna for use, in the band 225-450MHz. This band is typically used for military air-air and ground-to–air communications, including data links. This antenna does not require a ground-plane for proper operation, and is vehicle mounted using a standard NATO flange. It includes a heavy-duty spring, which makes it suitable for use over very rough terrain.
